Storm Boy

Hindmarsh Island (Aboriginal: Kumerangk) is a sacred inland river island located in the lower Murray River near the town of Goolwa, South Australia.    The island is a tourist destination, which has increased in popularity since the opening of the Hindmarsh Island bridge in 2001.  Holiday Accommodation is available in waterfront homes in the Coorong Quays Marina Development.  

An access point to both the Mouth of the Murry River and the Coorong National Park.  Both areas of world-wide biological significance, and sough after destinations for bird watching.  The National Park being the area made famous by the filming of the much loved Australian Movie production ‘‘Storm Boy’’ the original story written by Colin Thiele in 1969 and the film recently re-made directed by Shawn Seet and starting famous world awarded cast including Geoffrey Rush.
